My goal in life is to be a novelist.
Just like hundreds of other people, I want to be able to live my life putting words down on paper to tell a story that will touch other people, right down to their souls.
Even when I was in middle school, I enjoyed writing. I enjoyed putting together book reports and essays, writing short stories and chaptered pieces that seemed to never end. Unfortunately for me, when I was approaching my last days in high school, I realized that literature and the arts (I was so in love with my English class and Art class) were not guaranteed to give you money. And I am selfish enough to say that a good portion of myself is motivated to be financially stable and independently wealthy. So I stopped writing. I stopped painting. And I started learning about business and IT and tried to get a secure job.
Anyways, all that stuff is talked about in my “About Me” section, so I don’t want to rehash it. At the end of the day, I want to get back to my roots. I want to write fantasy fiction Young Adult novels. I want to be able to hold a book in my hand and say, “Yes, I am a novelist!”. And I am smart enough to realize that most people cannot just become one overnight. And the best way to become good at something is to 1) Practice and 2) Study.
Therefore, I am immersing myself in both writing and reading full-heartedly. After all, if you are not sure about what you like and don’t like, how on earth can you expect to put something together that you’d want other people to like?
Therefore, every so often on my blog I will put up a book review. Last year I failed fantastically (I was supposed to read 50 novels and read 2.5…), so I am determined to do a better job this time around. In addition, I will keep direct links to my blog postings about books right here as well. Cheers!
